"I loved every moment in the gardens. Listening to the birds chirp and the leaves rustle. It would feel like the world stopped moving at times. The garden was a great get away from the cars and city noise. These green spaces are becoming harder and harder to come by which makes me all the more thankful that the community gardens are a place that work to provide that to as many people it can."

"Among the seeds sprouting, the birds chirping, and every shade of nature growing, it has been being surrounded by the other gardeners that has been the most radiant. Nurturers to everything that grows and everyone around. When away, I find myself missing the gardens and their caretakers like the desert misses the rain, and I am reminded that you never truly know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory. "

There is something uniquely fulfilling about working with my hands in the soil. Every task, whether planting, weeding, or harvesting, teaches me patience and humility. My time here was not just about growing food; it was a space for me to learn from the Earth and cultivate roots within a caring community.

I deeply appreciated the opportunity to acquire such a broad, yet integral, skillset. Learning from every angle about what goes into running, maintaining, and growing a non-profit organization like LBO re-inspired my love for community projects and green spaces. Being surrounded by passionate people and pockets of nature made this one of the most beautiful experiences I have had.
