Eagle Scout Exceeds Expectations

When Eagle Scout Candidate Matthew Peña approached LBO about a possible service project, we asked him to build a potting table for the Learning Garden at Zaferia Junction. We were not quite prepared for the response!

Matthew, together with his family, fellow Boy Scouts from Troop 1244, and volunteers from his church, LDS Lakewood Third Ward, came together to build not one, not two, but FIVE potting tables for LBO. Two will become part of the Zaferia Learning Garden while the rest will be sent to other LBO gardens.

The Eagle Scout Service Project is the opportunity for a member of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to demonstrate leadership of others while performing a project for the benefit of his community. We are so grateful that Matthew chose Long Beach Organic as his benefactor.
